Experience life on Long Beach peninsula in Washington

During our travels in Washington state we had the opportunity to spend a little time on the Long Beach peninsula.

Traveling from Oregon to Wasington we had to cross the Astoria–Megler Bridge that spans the Columbia River between Astoria, Oregon and Point Ellice near Megler, Washington, at 4.1 miles long, this is one long bridge.

Atop the cliffs of Camp Disappoinment are not one but two lighthouses, this is the second Cape Disappointment lighthouse that helped guide ships safely toward shore in an area known as the “Graveyard of the Pacific”, where more than 2000 ships and 700 lives have been lost since the late 1700’s.
